VARANASI: Third-day survey of Gyanvapi mosque by the advocate commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra led team concluded peacefully after covering all three domes and the main mosque area, where Namaj is performed, on Sunday. Despite extending survey hours, the advocate commissioner found the work incomplete. He informed the district administration that the survey will continue on Monday morning.

“Survey at the Gyanvapi Masjid complex has begun,” Police Commissioner of Varanasi, A Satish Ganesh told the news agency. 

The videography survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex here is being carried out for the second consecutive on Sunday amid tight security.

More than 50% of the survey has been completed on Saturday. All the four basements and the western wall of the mosque have been covered under it. The remaining survey would be done on Sunday. As the external part of the mosque had already been surveyed on May 6, only the domes and the main mosque building are left to be surveyed as ordered by the court of the civil judge (senior division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar.

After Gujarat National Law University in Gandhinagar, this is the second time that a huge number of Covid cases have been reported by an educational institute. At its peak, the GNLU had 162 active cases, now it is Covid free.

According to sources, foreign students at the institute were among those who tested positive.

Meanwhile, Gujarat recorded 37 new cases on Sunday. Out of these, 34 were recorded in Ahmedabad, while Jamnagar and Vadodara registered one case each. One case was reported from rural Gujarat.
